This is my first figure painting in many, many years. It felt so good to work on this painting! At a local market she was there sewing the most elaborate quilt. It was enormous and a brilliant patchwork full of color and various embroidery. I knew I must capture the moment and bring it to life on canvas.
This is truly a special piece and she is a jewel of India.
